Jason "Booogie" Santana was born and raised in Spanish Harlem, New York. Ever since a young age, he has excelled in the performing arts, cast in several PSAs in print and film, worked on the popular PBS show “Between the Lions,” and attended Talent Unlimited High School, a performing arts high school in New York City. Once Jason decided to focus on dance as his main craft, he worked and trained under some of the industry’s biggest names on East Coast street styles, such as Rhapsody James, Luam, Jermaine Browne, and Angel Feliciano. Since then, Jason has appeared in countless commercials and TV specials and has also worked with major recording artists such as Beyonce, Katy Perry, Madonna, TLC, Diddy, LMFAO and Estelle.

Throughout his career, Jason has also been a dedicated and passionate teacher, starting at Lehman College and then continuing to a number of established dance studios, including Broadway Dance Center, Millennium Dance Complex in LA, and Culture Shock Dance Center in San Diego and is now faculty for Sheer Talent Convention. Most Recently, Jason is developing “Leave Your Cool,” an enterprise that aims to bring dancers together as a community, through individual   artistic self-expression and a celebration of the freestyle community.

Through both his “Leave Your Cool” endeavors and class environment, Jason hopes to create a challenging yet laid back atmosphere, where dancers learn not only to dance with intention, but also to think for themselves.  As a born and raised New Yorker, his teaching and movement style is very raw, as well as influenced his own acting and performing experiences. Jason’s goal as a teacher is to leave students with a fresh understanding of their own movement that can be applied to any genre of dance.
